So often the established common sense way of doing things is not true common sense at all.

If you and your organisation are doing what should work but keep coming up with poor results then perhaps you need to crack open your deeper paradigms for inspection.

Common sense should always reflect deeper unalterable truths, laws of nature if you will. Gravity is a constant, all attempts to cheat or otherwise work against gravity are bound to fail. Any trick that appears to work against gravity will work only because the laws are not fully understood. Never because there is a crack in nature that only specific wizards can control.

Human nature is no different to gravity. It is as constant. There are tricks you can play that work in the short term that appear to bring wonderful results but in the long term the tricks will present horrific opportunity costs.

The world is a finite place, there are only so many people available to you in any period of time. Assuming that there will always be another sucker is ultimately doomed to fail, especially now that the world is so small and integrated thanks to the Web and social media.

To survive and prosper in the long term, good sales and marketing must be built on a solid, authentic and honest platform and extend itself only in similar ways. People respond better to honesty than dis-honesty. Marketing that is honest will ultimately always sell better.
